The France won two silver medals at the Archery World Cup in Antalya (Türkiye) on June 23, 2024, one month before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. There will be no other stage before the Olympics and then, they will meet in the grand final scheduled for Tlaxcala, Mexico, on October 19 and 20, 2024.

THE French men’s and women’s archery teamsboth 2024 European champions, lost against the Republic of Koreathe most successful nation in the history of the discipline with 27 Olympic gold medals.

In men, Baptiste Addis, Jean-Charles Valladont et Thomas Chirault reached the second step of the podium after a semi-final won 5-3 against the Republic of China of Wang Yan, Li Zhongyuan et Kao Wenchao. In the final, the Blues were unable to do anything in the face of the ogre of Republic of Korea (5-1 defeat).

In women, Caroline Lopez, Lisa Barbelin et Amélie Cordeau got rid of India Bhakat Ankita, Kaur Bhajan et Kumari Deepika in the semi-final (5 sets to 4, 28-25 in the shoot-off) but, as in the men’s race, Korea took the upper hand in the final (6-0).

As a reminder, during the first two stages of the World Cup, the French had already shone. First in People’s Republic of China last April with a fourth place for Thomas Chirault. Then, a few weeks later, in May, thanks to Baptiste Addis. The Frenchman then achieved the best French performance with a fifth place in the Republic of Korea, also finishing just off the podium in the mixed team event with Lisa Barbelin.

The Olympic archery events will take place from Thursday July 25 to Sunday August 4. On theEsplanade des Invalidesfive Olympic titles will be awarded.
