On the last day of activities, the spectators always encouraged the Mexicans, especially Valencia, who last Thursday had long tablecloths for her birthday and who had to deal with the wind to center each arrow on the target.

In an interview, Ale Valencia assured that he will work harder to improve and obtain gold in 2025; “I finished on the podium, however, I will do everything to improve in my next competitions.”

From screens outside the court, attendees cheered on each of the eight competitors in charge of lowering the curtain on the Tlaxcala 2024 Archery World Cup Final.

The first place winner won 30 thousand Swiss francs, about 690 thousand Mexican pesos, while the second place obtained 15 thousand Swiss francs, more than 344 thousand pesos and the third place 8 thousand Swiss francs, more than 183 thousand pesos.

The 2024 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final took place on Saturday and Sunday, as part of the sport’s annual international competition circuit.

The best 32 archers in the world who participated in the competition, eight in each of the four categories of the championship, qualified in one of the stages held in Shanghai, China; Yecheon, South Korea, and Antalya, Türkiye, or by accumulating enough ranking points with high results to be selected.

Additionally, the two Paris 2024 Olympic champions, Kim Woojin and Lim Sihyeon, also booked spots as Olympic invitees, with Mexico receiving a spot in each category as a host nation.

Tlaxcala is the only Mexican city to host a World Cup Final twice, equaled only by Switzerland; Mérida (2006), Mexico City (2015) and Hermosillo (2023) have also hosted this championship.
