BarcelonaAfter the ARA revealed that two advisors of the commons in Parliament were paid by the parliamentary group of the PSC, the general secretary of the chamber made a report in which he considered this transfer operation irregular because it did not conform to the regulations. However, things will change starting this Tuesday thanks to a change in the rule for this that the extended table has approved so that modules can be transferred between the parliamentary groups, that is, the allocations for advisers. Thus, a “punctuation” has been made that has received the favorable vote of the PSC and commons, the abstention of ERC and Junts and the vote against of the rest of the formations. In this way, this procedure is no longer in question and is now the norm, which will allow the continuity of the two advisors in question. According to parliamentary sources, it was necessary because “there was no precedent” and they remember that until the last legislature advisors were not hired via modules – previously the allocations to the groups were higher and each of them had room for maneuver to hire as you wish with these resources.

At the same time, the chamber has also approved an increase of 200,000 euros in the subsidies of the parliamentary groups and now they will be a total of 3,925,000 euros. The argument put forward is to “promote parliamentary activity” such as participation in commissions, since they point out that “resources are needed for Parliament to function”. This update, which coincides with the start of the new legislature, has been endorsed by Junts, PSC, ERC, commons and the PP, while Vox, Aliança Catalana and the CUP have voted against it.
