Dominik Szoboszlai surprisingly moved from Leipzig to Liverpool a year ago for 70 million euros. The Hungarian is back in the Champions League – and has a lot of confidence in his former club.

Dominik Szoboszlai from Liverpool FC believes his former club RB Leipzig can win the Bundesliga title. “They have the chance to win the championship and I hope they do it,” said the Hungary international. “They won the cup and the Supercup. All that’s missing is this one title. This year it could happen.” In the Bundesliga, Leipzig is currently second, tied on points with leaders Bayern Munich.

Szoboszlai and Liverpool will face Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday (9 p.m./DAZN) at their old place of work. The Saxons have problems in the premier class and have lost both of their games so far. To advance, the 36 teams must reach at least 24th place. Liverpool won their first two games.

A delayed farewell

Szoboszlai is also a regular player under new coach Arne Slot, successor to Jürgen Klopp. However, he is not satisfied, especially with his goal tally. “It can always be better.
