Winter Technical Internship – Winter Camp 2024-2025

Winter Technical Internship – Winter Camp 2024-2025

Judo Québec is happy to welcome you to its annual winter camp with 2 exceptional guests. This year, 2 Olympians will be on hand to share their best tips and advice. Come and soak up their contagious energy and great determination.

World champion in the -57 kg category in 2021, first female Olympic medallist at the Tokyo 2020 and triple bronze medallist at the World Championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024, Jessica Klimkait has been sitting at the top of the world rankings alongside her compatriot for many years. Holder of 12 medals, including 9 gold, on the IJF world circuit, Jessica is an outstanding athlete and judoka. She has demonstrated extraordinary courage and determination.

François Gauthier-Drapeau, originally from Club de judo Seiko and competing in the -81kg class, François has demonstrated incredible strength of character and boundless determination in recent years. After an injury that kept him away from the tatami for almost a year, he returned in January 2020 to win the Canadian Elite Senior Championship. At that moment, he confirmed to everyone that he was back and ready. But 2 months later, the whole world is on pause due to the pandemic. This new pause could have demotivated him, but François came back even stronger, and since then he’s never stopped improving and impressing us. In the last 3 years, he has repeatedly stood on international podiums, including 7 Grand Slams. In 2022, he was named vice-champion of the Commonwealth Games in Great Britain, and less than a year later, he confirmed his place among the world’s best judokas with a 5th place finish at the World Championships. François is undoubtedly an inspiration to young athletes, thanks to his performances, his athletic qualities, his energy, his positivism and his great generosity.

We look forward to seeing you at this unique event, where fun, motivation and sharing will be the order of the day!
