European and International Championships in Rome, rain of gold

The Judo Club Legnano in via Cantù celebrates a new important milestone thanks to the recent introduction of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A few months after the start of the courses, the team collected a shower of medals at the Rome International Open and at the European Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship. Led by the Brazilian master and champion Glimario Júnior, the club’s athletes won 5 gold medals, showing very high level preparation.

Leonardo La Volpe dominated at the Rome International Open, while Oreste Amati and Angelo Margarone not only triumphed in their respective categories, but also won gold in the prestigious Open category. However, Juliana Ribeiro was unlucky, having to succumb to strangulation after a brilliant fight. On 18 October, again in Rome, the European Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship was held, where Angelo Margarone confirmed his value at an international level by defeating opponents from all over the world and taking home a well-deserved gold. The president of the Judo Club Legnano expressed great enthusiasm for the successes achieved, underlining how Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, recently introduced in the gym, is already giving significant satisfaction at an international level. Master Glimario Júnior, for his part, praised the commitment and dedication of his athletes, stating that he had always been confident that they would be able to excel in these competitions. Angelo Margarone, fresh European champion, declared: “I am very satisfied with the work done with the master. It was a return to my origins, to the times when I fought as a young man. It was not easy to follow the diet to get back into weight, but the teacher guided me as best as possible, allowing me to achieve this result”.Ch.S.
