With passion and dedication: Aguascalientes judo team stood out in this national tournament – El Sol del Centro

With great pride and determination, the Aguascalientes judo team returned this weekend from Morelia, Michoacán, after participating in the National Tournament “Prof. Daniel F. Hernández”. This event, one of the most prominent on the national calendar, brought together judokas from all over the country, and The Aguascalientes athletes showed that their effort and dedication are paying off.

From the first rounds, the team showed its competitive level. In the Pre-Child category, Lía Odalis Ibarra Esparza stood out by obtaining the gold medal in the -30 kg division. His performance was impressive; Lía, at just ten years old, showed a refined and an impeccable strategy that allowed him to defeat his opponents. With a smile that illuminated her face, Lía expressed her happiness: “I feel very excited and grateful for the support of my coach and my family. This gold is for them.”

In the Children’s A Sub 13 category, the team continued to achieve success. Mateo Silva Córdova, in the -42 kg division, won the bronze medal, while Héctor Abraham Preciado Salas achieved another bronze medal in -52 kg. Both athletes, who have been training hard in the dojo, commented on the importance of these victories. “Every fight was a lesson,” Mateo said, “and I am very happy to represent Aguascalientes in this tournament.”

The competition was tough, and León Enrique Arjona Ayala, in the +52 kg category, stood out by winning the silver medal. León, known for his agility and strength, explained: “Judo is more than a sport; it is discipline and respect. I am happy for what we achieved as a team”. His words reflect the spirit that permeates among the judokas of Aguascalientes, who know that each medal is the result of many hours of training and sacrifice.

Moving on to the Children’s category B Sub 15, the excitement did not stop. Renata Yanilen Marmolejo Aguilar made use of her experience and took a bronze medal in the -40 kg division, while her partner Keila Sofía Ibarra Esparza won the silver in -48 kg. Keila’s performance was particularly outstanding, as in the final she faced a very strong opponent and, despite not winning gold, showed an exceptional performance. “Every fight is a learning experience. I am grateful for the support of my team”said Keila, who is preparing for new challenges in her career.

In the same -40 kg division, Efrén Alejandro Juárez González joined his teammates on the podium by obtaining the silver medal. Their determination and teamwork were key to achieving this result. Efrén commented on the importance of maintaining motivation: “Judo teaches me to never give up. Every fight is a new opportunity to improve.”

The team’s head coach, Miguel Ángel Pérez, expressed his satisfaction with the achievements obtained: “Seeing our judokas on the podium is a reward for all the effort invested. These young people are the future of judo in Aguascalientes and, without a doubt, they will continue to achieve success.”
