Malmö FF can secure the SM gold against arch-rival IFK Gothenburg.
One of MFF’s calls for gold is to avoid a plane storm.
– That would mean major consequences for how we will use our plan going forward, says security manager Peter Narbe to the Football Channel.

If Hammarby, second in the table, loses points against Sirius on Saturday, the SM gold is secured for Malmö. If not, MFF’s next match ball will come in Monday’s meeting with IFK Göteborg at home.

Given the importance of the match and the large away crowd that is expected (1,200 tickets sold), the charge can be extra large when the rivals meet.

The last time MFF won SM gold, in 2023, the match against Elfsborg was marred by problems with the stands. During the storming of the MFF supporters, Bengals were thrown at the away team, who threw back. MFF wants to avoid a new plan invasion at all costs if the title is secured on Monday.

The club’s security manager Peter Narbe explains that they are planning the event based on such a scenario, and another where Blåvitt supporters may try to destroy a celebration.

About the risks on Monday, Narbe says:

– The one part, that home supporters get onto the field, there we hope and believe that our supporters, just like in the cup final (against Djurgården), will help us ensure that we have a usable lawn to play on in future matches.

The security manager continues:

– It is a risk scenario right at the match, which for our part would also have major consequences for how we will use our plan going forward. It’s a lot, but our supporters have understood this situation before, when it was the same at the cup final. We hope and believe that we can get help with that this time too, should we win the gold.

MFF had a planning meeting with the police in Gothenburg on Tuesday, and one goal will be to minimize the risk of aggressiveness among supporters. There, the rebuilt away section for the year can have such an effect, as the Blåvitt fans can be divided on two different floors.

– Our away section creates better conditions to minimize that risk, or at least make it more difficult. And the celebration that took place on the field last year, we don’t think is a big risk that home supporters choose to run in, given the consequences it has for the rest of the season, says Peter Narbe and concludes:

– It is about the supporters not getting close to each other so that this type of event can happen. We have a better equipped away section this year than we had last year, we hope that we are part of minimizing that risk.
