Nienhagen. The judo division of SV Nienhagen is offering a new training group for children and young people with visual impairments. “Our goal is to learn the basics of judo in a safe and supportive environment and to promote values such as self-confidence, appreciation and tolerance,” says department head Maik Edling. Judo not only offers coordination and fitness challenges, but also trains social skills.

Paralympic medalists Carmen and Ramona Brussig support SV Nienhagen
In special training sessions for people with visual impairments, the SVN would like to give participants the opportunity to try things out in a protected environment. There is also the chance to apply the techniques learned together with other judoka in an inclusive training session. “We are pleased to be able to draw on the valuable experience of Carmen and Ramona Brussig, who support our group as sponsors,” says the association. Both have won numerous medals in Paralympic competitions and support the SVN with their knowledge and expertise.
