JAKARTA – LOTTE Group organized a sports event titled “LOTTE Future Champions Badminton Challenge”. The event is organized to support young badminton talents in Indonesia.
This program is organized by LOTTE Group and Daehong Communications Indonesia as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that contributes to the development and well-being of the community or communities in Indonesia which, in this case, is This is a youth sport. The program itself was attended by 24 participants who are the best young talents during the selection among 68 children from 25 schools in the Jabodetabek region. These participants will be coached by 2 Indonesian badminton legends, namely Debby Susanto, the All England mixed doubles gold medal winner and Candra Wijaya, the 2011 Olympic men’s doubles gold medal winner.
“I’m excited to coach these kids and showcase their talents. At a light age, this training is not easy. They have to stay spirited and disciplined because their biggest challenge is the process because today’s badminton training they are small until they are old. I hope there will be an Indonesian champion candidate from this program,” said Debby Susanto.
Chandra Wijaya also added that participating children can have good enthusiasm and spirit.
“Because the purpose of this program is to provide education or training that is not pleasant because it invites former athletes like me and Coach Debby. I hope they can take positive things and continue to succeed in the world of badminton in the future,” said Chandra.
Throughout the program, they will be trained in badminton in various essential categories to become badminton athletes such as physical training, technical training and mental training. Participants will also complete various award-winning challenges such as Supersmash Challenge, Strength Physique, Technical Triumph, Mental Mastery Challenge and LOTTE Box Match Challenge before finally competing in the badminton tournament to become LOTTE champions and future badminton champion in the categories of men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles.
The teams will be divided into two teams, titled “Change Today” and “Create Tomday”, according to the LOTTE Group slogan, which means “Change today and create a better future”.
