For the competitive sports division based in Mülheim ad Ruhr, the DBV is looking for a sports director (m/f/d) as soon as possible. All information at a glance.

These are your tasks

  • Responsibility for the overall strategy in competitive sports and for a positive development in youth competitive sports, affiliated and elite areas of the German Badminton Association
  • Responsible creation of competitive sports concepts
  • Responsible for positive structural and cultural development in the youth sector (work focus in the 2025 Olympic cycle until at least the end of 2028)
  • Control of regional target agreements with the partners involved
  • Creation, communication and implementation of the nomination guidelines for major measures as well as the management guidelines
  • Management of the management committee
  • Responsibility for competitive sports personnel (right of direction) including personnel deployment planning and personnel development.
  • Financial responsibility in competitive sports (perspectively as a full-time board member BGB §26/30)
  • Acquisition of financial donations/funding/own resources (BMI, DOSB, top sports agency, BVA, VT, sponsors, etc.)
  • Representation of interests towards the DOSB, BMI and BVA as well as all relevant partners for the use of federal funding
  • Specifications, management and controlling of the competition organization
  • Control and evaluation of the framework guidelines for youth competitive sports
  • Head of Department for Competitive Sports O19
  • Collaboration with internal and external sports institutions, including DOSB/GBL, TA, IAT, FA, NADA, FSL partners, WVL partners, Bundeswehr (BMVg), SDSH, the relevant federal/state ministries and federal/state authorities as well as the association members and partners
  • Main professional representation of the interests of the umbrella association in national and international committees
  • In terms of official duties, you are under the supervision of the President.

This is your profile

  • Successfully completed university studies in sports science, business administration, economics, sports management or similar.
  • Profound knowledge of the structures, systems and networks of competitive sports as well as several years of management experience in the area of ​​competitive sports in an Olympic sport or comparable qualification
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and communication skills
  • Above-average commitment, structured way of working, assertiveness and negotiation skills
  • Confident appearance towards all stakeholders in competitive sports
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
  • Confident use of common office software (MS Office)
