Saturday, the Salbris and Blois clubs have an important day in their French interclub championship. The hope of aiming for a place in the play-offs for promotion to the next level is in sight.
Oullins, a solid opponent
In Nationale 2, Salbris moves to the leader, Oullins. Playing in Nationale 1 last season, the Rhodaniens are present and formidable with in their ranks Delphine Lansac, former French number 1, who played in the London Games in 2016. Oullins has only conceded one match out of the sixteen played in two matches.
The key to success for Salbris is on the men’s singles and one of the doubles and mixed. The men’s squad seems slightly favorite for Salbris at least in singles. Among the ladies, the singles would lean more towards Oullins, depending on the composition of the teams. The men’s and women’s doubles, and the two mixed doubles are very solid for Oullins.
For Salbris, a draw would be a good result in order to stay a good distance away in the standings and hope for more positive return matches. At least two singles and two doubles are hoped for for the Solognots.
Blois can keep the lead
In Nationale 3, Blois, at the head of its group, travels to Argenton-sur-Creuse which is fighting to maintain its position. The Blésois start favorites and can dream of retaining first place in the group ahead of Limoges and Clermont-Ferrand 2, their next opponents.
For its part, the Salbrisian reserve has a capital move for its maintenance against the promoted, Sully-les-Bordes, currently last. The Solognots will find former Salbris players like Tanguy Blanchard and Lucie Couvert. The singles can set the trend of the meeting and tip the Salbrisians side in addition to the mixed ones.
