Less than half! Manuel Neuer’s horrendous catch rate

FC Bayern Munich suffered their second defeat in the UEFA Champions League against FC Barcelona.

The 4-1 defeat is certainly a setback for the German record champions, who actually had a dominant start to the season. What was striking in the defeat against the Catalans was that every shot that hit the goal ended up there.

Manuel Neuer (38) conceded four goals against the “Blaugrana” and didn’t make a single save. In general, the five-time world goalkeeper is not necessarily in the best shape. The statistics also show this.

Catch rate below 50 percent

In ten games across all competitions, Neuer has already had to reach behind himself twelve times. The keeper’s saves are even more worrying. Because of the 20 shots that were aimed at his goal, Neuer only saved eight! That makes a catch rate of only 40 percent.

By the way, Neuer only made one save in the Champions League – that’s fewer than any other goalkeeper with three games.
