OLD WARM BOOKS
The Altwarmbüchener Badminton Club (ABC) started in Peine with a total of 15 players in the last national rankings U11 to U19. In the semi-finals of the boys’ singles U13, Bowen Ban, the younger player, was able to prevail against Ashwath Vinoth from TSV Bemerode in a close game with 13:21, 21:18 and 21:13 and reached the final. In the second set, Bowen Ban had to retire due to injuries and thus reached second place.
Kerani Panthulu also reached the final of the girls’ singles U13 completely surprisingly with a 19:21, 21:18 and 21:16 success against Harkenblecker Lea Pechtold. In this, Kerani Panthulu lost in two sets to her physically superior opponent. Second place is still a great success for the younger ABC player.
After losing the first set, Iris Kook made it to the final in the U19 girls’ singles with 21:17 and 21:11 against Lara Sargsyan from MTV Nienburg. She then defeated Lenja Ihbe from VfL Lüneburg with 25:23 and 21:15 and secured victory and first place.
In the girls U19 category, Eniie Wappler took 4th place as a U17 player, while Ben Hensel took 5th place in the U11 boys category.
ABC coach Frank Heise explained: “It was surprising that our younger U13 players presented themselves very well, as we had to struggle a bit with injuries this weekend.”
