Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen have been named the 2024 International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) Men’s World Players.
The pair are the only two African players on the shortlist.
Lookman was recognized for his outstanding performances with Serie A club Atalanta.
The 27-year-old played a crucial role in Barcelona’s Europa League triumph last season.

The winger scored a historic hat-trick under Gian Piero Gasperini in a 3-0 win over Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
He also made nine appearances for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring nineteen goals.
Osman is currently on loan from Naples to Galatasaray. He played 15 league games for Galatasaray last season and scored 25 goals.
The forward also performed well during Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland won the award last year.
Haaland is also one of this year’s nominees for the honor.
