The National Final of the School Sports Gamesorganized by the National Sports Institute (IND)came to an end last Monday, after eleven days of competition in the National Stadium Park and together with defining the national champions of each of the disciplines in dispute, the delegation that will represent Chile in the South American School of Bucaramanga, Colombia 2024.
The team will be made up of 168 girls and boys between 12 and 14 years old in the disciplines of chess, athletics, adapted athletics, handball, basketball, futsal, judo, swimming, table tennis and volleyball. To them, 3×3 basketball and adapted swimming will be added as guest sports.
In this regard, Israel Castro, National Director of the IND, stated that “we are very happy with what we have experienced these days. The National Final of our School Sports Games was a success and without a doubt they promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits, in addition to promoting values such as discipline, perseverance, respect and teamwork.”
In that sense, the authority added that “now, it is the turn of the biggest prize of these Games, since more than 140 thousand children from all over Chile participate in them from the communal stage, through provincial and regional, until reaching the Final. National where the 168 best athletes in the country are going to represent us in the South American, which is undoubtedly a great experience.”
