The quarterfinals, waiting for their last two passengers

The quarterfinals, waiting for their last two passengers

There remains one last day of competition within the Group Phase, but six teams have already been able to certify their tickets for a quarterfinal that will meet its last two passengers next November. A mystery that will be cleared up next Tuesday, November 12, and that will determine which two teams will accompany Alimerka Oviedo, Silbö San Pablo Burgos, Movistar Estudiantes, Real Betis, Amics Castelló and Odilo FC Cartagena in the quarterfinal pot.

COMMUNICATION AREA FEB

It will be on December 23 when the Spanish Cup begins its qualifying rounds for the title with the quarterfinals, but to do so, the competition must first complete a table that already has six qualified teams. Therefore, the last day of the Group Phase will be divisive in Groups A and C where Monbus Obradoiro and UEMC Real Valladolid will start as leaders.

FOLLOW-UP: ResultsCalendar

GROUP A: To be determined

Monbus Obradoiro will depend on itself on the last day where a victory against CB Prat would allow the Galician team to certify first place as undefeated leader (4-0). A result that would give them the ticket to a quarterfinal to which Ourense Baloncesto still aspires, which closed its group stage last Tuesday with a victory against CB Santfeliuent that allowed them to maintain some qualification options. These would happen due to a defeat by Monbus Obradoiro on the last day against CB Prat, which would cause a triple tie that could benefit Moncho López’s team.

1. Ourense Basketball Club (3-1)
2. Monbus Workshop (3-0)
3. CB Prat (2-1)
4. Homs UE Mataró (0-3)
5. CB Santfeliuenc (0-3)

GROUP B: Alimerka Oviedo

Although it had started as the most even Group during its first three days of competition, the dispute on the night of last Tuesday ended up giving the ticket to the quarterfinals to Alimerka Oviedo who gave their pursuers no option. Because their victory in Azpeitia dissolved any passing option for Inveready Gipuzkoa and a Grupo Alega Cantabria for which only a triple tie would have been worth it. With the big unknown now cleared up, Alimerka Oviedo will now opt for the perfect phase in their last home match against Teknei Zornotza.

1. Alimerka Oviedo (3-0)
2. Inveready Gipuzkoa (2-2)
3. Alega Cantabria Group (2-1)
4. White ISB (1-2)
5. Teknei Zornotza (0-3)

GROUP C: To be determined

UEMC Real Valladolid could have sealed its classification last Tuesday, but the defeat suffered at home against Caja Rural CB Zamora was going to prolong the fight for one more day, once again opening the door to Súper Agropal Palencia. Therefore, the last day will be decisive, with the people of Valladolid waiting from home (rest day) for what happens in the other two games. And the triple tie could leave Lolo Encinas’ team out in favor of the Palencia team, who would surpass the table in the event of a tie between the two given their victory in the J.1 match at Pisuerga. One last date on which the people of Palencia will host Clínica Ponferrada and on which Caja Rural Zamora will face Gran Canaria.

1. UEMC Real Valladolid (3-1)
2. Super Agropal Palencia (2-1)
3. Caja Rural CB Zamora (2-1)
4. Ponferrada Clinic (1-2)
5. Gran Canaria (0-3)

GROUP D: Silbö San Pablo Burgos

Silbö San Pablo Bugos did not give any option to his co-stars, who has dominated Group D from start to finish. In this way, Bruno Savignani’s team closed their classification this past Tuesday in Logroño, rounding off a 4-0 that has made them one of the best teams in this Group Phase. With all this, the last day will only put at stake the fight for second place and the possibility of Lobe Huesca La Magia adding its first cup victory.

1. Silbö San Pablo Burgos (4-0)
2. Ureta Tizona Burgos Group (2-1)
3. Rioverde Clavijo (2-1)
4. OCA Global CB Salou (1-2)
5. Lobe Huesca The Magic (0-3)

GROUP E: Movistar Students

Who was also not going to miss the opportunity to certify their classification through the fast track was going to be Movistar Estudiantes, who after their victory in the derby against Flexicar Fuenlabrada, was going to put them directly into the quarterfinals. A goal achieved last Tuesday night at the Movistar Academy and against a Bueno Arenas Albacete team that will fight on the last day for what could be its first victory in this Group stage. A last date without the leader already in play and in which Cáceres P. Humanidad will visit Flexicar Fuenlabrada in the fight for second place.

1. Movistar Estudiantes (4-0)
2. Flexicar Fuenlabrada (2-1)
3. Cáceres P. Humanity (2-1)
4. La Salud Archena (0-3)
5. Bueno Arenas Albacere (0-3)

GROUP F: Real Betis Basketball

The team classified in Group F was decided in the same way during last Tuesday night, although, in its case, as the main candidate for first place facing its rest day. In this way, Real Betis saw from home how the victory of Melilla Ciudad del Deporte on the CB Naturavia Morón court definitively cleared their path without having to wait for the last victory. With this, the last day will leave as the main incentive knowing if the Sevillians close the Group Stage perfectly with 4-0 and if Ciudad de Huelva says goodbye to the Cup putting the first victory in their locker.

1. Real Betis Basketball (3-0)
2. CB Naturavia Morón (2-2)
3. Melilla City of Sports (2-1)
4. Damex UDEA Algeciras (1-2)
5. Huelva City (0-3)

GROUP G: Friends Castelló

With a match still pending on matchday 4 between the two Mallorcan teams and the last matchday still to be played, Group G has already decided who will be its representative in the round of 16. Specifically, Amics Castelló who, with their 3-0, have already secured passage. Because a hypothetical draw with Hestia Menorca would give the ticket to an Amics Castelló team that won the direct duel and would no longer be able to enter into triple ties by taking away a single game from the teams with 1-2.

1. Amics Castelló (3-0)
2. Hestia Menorca (2-1)
3. Fibwi Palma (1-2)
4. Maderas Sorlí Benicarló (1-2)
5. Palmer Basket Mallorca (0-2)

GROUP H: Odilo FC Cartagena

Finally, Odilo FC Cartagena returned from Ibiza last Tuesday with the sixth ticket in their pocket after winning on the Class Sant Antoni Ibiza court. A victory with which to make it 3-0 with one match left and which was going to mean their pass given the victory in the direct duel with a HLA Alicante with a 3-1 as a final balance and which they could surpass even in the event of victory on that last day of competition.

1. HLA Alicante (3-1)
2. Odilo FC Cartagena (3-0)
3. Class Sant Antoni Ibiza (1-2)
4. Nadunet Refitel B. Llíria (1-2)
5. CB L´Horta Godella (0-3)
