Mr. Héctor García Antonio pointed out that this event has the objective of giving impetus and management to the “National Physical Activation for Health Program”and thereby encourage sport to be one of the main tools for the prevention of chronic-degenerative diseases and the strengthening of the social fabric. He emphasized that, in past years, the Institute has distinguished itself by providing great athletes to the Central American, Pan American, World, Paralympic and Olympic Games as is the case of the already well-known Felipe el “Tibio” Muñoz, María José Alcalá, Carlos Girón, Jesús Mena, Fernando Platas, Amalia It is worth highlighting the presence of the Greatest Mexican Paralympic Athlete, María Juana Soto Santana, the double Olympic medalist in athletic walking at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, Raúl González Rodríguez and the silver Olympic medal judoka in Paris 2024, she is the first to obtain an Olympic medal in judo for Mexico in history, Prisca Awiti Alcaraz.
