Damex Udea Algeciras has acquired the services of American center Amadi Michael Ikpeze, with a Cotonou passport (Nigeria). The player will be at Miki Ortega’s disposal today.

Ikpeze, born in 1998, measures 210 centimeters and has already played two seasons in the Spanish league, although he comes from the United States.

Amadi Ikpeze (Amherst, August 6, 1998) played in his last season as a center in Pichincha of the Bolivian Basketball League. The player born in Amherst (New York), is a center trained at the University of San Buenaventura (New York), with which he played in the NCAA for 4 seasons with the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, from 2016 to 2020.

In the 2016-17 season he played 23 games with an average of 9.2 minutes per game in which he scored 2.3 points and captured 1.9 rebounds on average. In the 2017-18 season, he played 34 games with an average of 14.3 minutes per game in which he scored 4.5 points, captured 3.1 rebounds and gave 0.2 assists.

In the 2018-19 season, he played 32 games with an average of eleven minutes per game, scoring 2.7 points, capturing 2.4 rebounds and giving 0.1 assists.

In the 2019-20 season, he played 30 games, playing an average of 13.3 minutes per game, scoring 3.6 points and capturing 3.3 rebounds. After not being drafted in 2020, in the 2020-21 season, he would debut as a professional in the KB Rahoveci of the Kosovo Basketball Super League, with which he played 27 games in which he played an average of 29.9 minutes scoring 9.1 points, capturing 11.1 rebounds and distributing 0.6 assists per game.

On August 27, 2021, his signing for Palmer Alma Mediterránea Palma of the LEB Oro League becomes official, for one season. With the Balearic team he played an average of just over sixteen minutes per game, in which he averaged 4 points and almost 4 rebounds.

On October 27, 2022, he signed for Club Polideportivo La Roda of the LEB Plata League. On April 5, 2024, he was announced as a reinforcement for Pichincha of the Bolivian Basketball League.

He is a very athletic and physically strong center, who will impose his physical strength in the league. We hope he will be a reference both defensively and offensively under the basket. He is going to bring a lot of strength to the team because of the type of player he is and during his university years he has already proven to be a great finisher and an intimidating center for rivals. He will also help us a lot on rebounding and in our game, which is very dynamic, he will be quite comfortable.”
