Under the precepts and principles of the sport invented by the Japanese Jigoro Kano in 1882, this Saturday the Black Belt School of Ciego de Ávila, Miguel Rodríguez Dapía, was inaugurated, a fact that marks a milestone among the practitioners of that sport in the province and also It is a tribute to World Judo Day, which is celebrated every October 28, in honor of the birth of the founder of that martial art.
At the first meeting, Jorge León Gutiérrez (Chapa), black belt, third Dan, was chosen as director; Ángel Valentín Díaz Paz Naranjo (Cinta Negra) was in charge of the provincial subcommittee on the history of that sport in the territory and José Enrique Peña Andréu, third Dan, treasurer.
The school, which will have an educational and inclusive nature, will initially open its doors on the second Saturday of each month, not only for those who hold the degree of black belt, but for all veterans, practitioners of that sport, referees and judokas. with other graduations who wish to improve themselves.
Those who reside outside the country may also choose to be students of the school, as long as they maintain the ethics of that martial art and the principles in line with the revolutionary sport.
The United Nations Cultural, Scientific and Educational Organization and the International Olympic Committee declared it the most complete sport for children and young people, as it promotes values such as friendship, participation, respect and effort for improve.
