Three times a week, this club of passionate archers meets for workouts suitable for all ages and levels.
From children to adults
Tuesday evening, time for beginner children coached by Océane Tahoret, before leaving the track to teenagers on Wednesday. Adults, for their part, meet on Thursdays for training sessions that welcome all skill levels.
With its 31 years of existence, the club today brings together a forty archers.
Its president, Pascal Denoual Mahieux, does not hide “his satisfaction” in the face of “the growing enthusiasm” for this ancestral disciplines.
Since the success of the Paris Olympic Games, archery has won new fans, and the club’s participation in forum of Malestroit associations confirmed this enthusiasm.
The club, which trains on an 18-meter indoor track, is not limited to weekly sessions. Competitions are organized regularly with local clubs and on occasion, they offer initiations to introduce people to their sport.
An archer shines in para-archery
For President Pascal Denoual, archery is “an elegant discipline, which requires an upright posture and particularly developed back muscles. »
It requires “rigor, concentration, and a mental approach close to martial arts. » And even if archery appears to be a sport individual, the team spirit is very present.
Great pride of the Malestroyans, Bastien Le Flem, archer in regular training at the club, finished in fourth place during the 2024 French para-archery championship.
