Portland – The American basketball league NBA has subsequently corrected the result of the game between Portland and Golden State. The Warriors around superstar Stephen Curry received one more point one day after their success against the Trail Blazers, winning the season opener in Portland 140:104.

The NBA responded to a counting error during the game when a converted free throw by De’Anthony Melton was not counted. Such corrections are rare in the NBA; the league employs a large number of officials who check all statistics during games.

For Golden State, it was the fourth season opener with 140 or more points after 1990, 1967 and 1962. The Portland Trail Blazers had never before had to accept so many points in a first game of the season.
