Mexican Alejandra Valencia takes a medal in the Archery World Cup

The Mexican archer Alejandra Valencia continues to make history by achieving a bronze medal in the 2024 Archery World Cup. The Sinaloa native stood out for her skill and precision and managed to beat the representative of South Korea, Jeon Hunyoung, with a score of 6-2.

Valencia, who had already demonstrated her talent at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, secured her place on the podium after eliminating the Olympic champion, Lim Sihyeon, in the semifinal in an exciting confrontation. During the third set of the final, the 30-year-old athlete achieved a perfect score by hitting all of her arrows in the center.

The podium of this competition was made up of China’s Li Jiaman, who took gold, and Deepika Kumari of India, who took silver. With this achievement, Alejandra Valencia returns to the competition after her participation in Paris 2024, opening the Olympic cycle heading to Los Angeles 2028.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Mexican women’s archery team, made up of Alejandra Valencia, Ana Paula Vázquez and Ángela Ruiz, won the bronze medal after beating the Netherlands team with a resounding score of 6- 2.

In addition, Alejandra Valencia also won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the mixed archery category, cementing her place as one of Mexico’s most outstanding archers.
