1 Two weekends instead of one!
While it traditionally occupies the first weekend of December, the Telethon has brought forward its official date this year to Friday November 29 and Saturday November 30, 2024. The reason for this change, decided by the AFM: the reopening to the public, the December 7, from Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, an event which will occupy all the media space. “We then said to ourselves that we could combine activities over the two weekends,” explains Serge Le Roux, local coordinator of the Telethon. An initiative that makes it possible to strengthen the visibility of events and increase their number for maximum benefits for research.
Double weekend, double sponsor. Or rather a godmother first, since it is the Drennec paracyclist Katell Alençon who will preside over the first weekend, at the kick-off of a cycling tour organized by EC Landerneau on Saturday November 30. A week later, Paralympic medalist Jason Grandry, already a sponsor last year, will make his return to the Landernean tatamis. Except that this time, the judokas will leave their usual room at the Fabrik to join the nearby Cimenterie, where around a hundred tatami mats will be assembled for XXL training.
3 Objective €10,000
€4,700 collected in the first year, more than €8,800 last year, those responsible for the Landran Telethon hope to “cross the €10,000 mark” for this new edition. An objective which seems reasonable given the number of activities offered and the new duration. Inclusive walk from several towns, zumbathon, Volleyball Night, Landerneau Bretagne Basket raffle and various shows are renewed. The traders’ association will also donate the proceeds from the ride on the first evening of the Christmas market. An outpouring of generosity that we can still join at the next organizational meeting, on Thursday, November 7, at 6:30 p.m., in the town hall.
