Poggibonsi, at the Politeama a taste of Teatro a Merenda for families with the puppets of Cracrà Punk

Weekend full of events at the Politeama Theater in Poggibonsi with the different expressions of the transversal program Discipline(s), promoted by the Elsa Foundation and the Municipality of Poggibonsi with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture. Entertainment for families on Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening, a double concert of music, rock and folk.

On Saturday 26 October, at 4pm, in the Set room, a preview of Teatro a Merend will be stageda, the event dedicated to children and their families and curated by the Timbre Association which will begin its 29th edition from January 2025. Leading the way is “Cracrà Punk”, presented by Fontemaggiore Teatro di Perugia and Il Laborincolo, with Marco Lucci, who narrates, with a clever use of puppets, the story of a newborn baby who fell from the sky due to an oversight by the stork. The little boy finds himself in front of the door of Ada, Mrs. Death, who, overwhelmed by tenderness, abandons herself to an impossible desire: that of becoming a mother.

The days pass with games in the snow, riddles, lullabies and Baby becomes a boy passionate about punk music. Along with the blue crest, the always avoided question also arises in his head: who is his father?

Ada doesn’t have a ready answer and to keep him with her she invents a story that is almost unbelievable. From that moment on, all that remains for Baby is to leave in search of his parents: he will cross the sea, bring a smile back to the queen’s lips and in the midst of a storm he will meet the stork Tiresias, the only one capable of revealing the truth and showing him the way. .

“Marco Lucci animates all the characters with an enchanting skill. Every now and then it seems like we can get lost in the thousand threads thrown around but little by little, during the course of the story, each thread is picked up again and brought to weave with great skill a story that has no time”, we read in a review by Eolo Ragazzi, a magazine online theater for young people.

Tickets: adults 8 euros; children 5 euros. The hall holds a maximum of 60 spectators, so it is advisable to purchase tickets in advance. Pre-sales: Politeama during cinema hours and online at

On Sunday 27 October, at 7pm, again in the Set room, the alternative rock music of the Valdelsa duo Marino Makes Market will be staged as part of the Music Club event, opening the evening dedicated to folk music featuring Femina Ridens, with Francesca Messina and Massimiliano Lo Sardo, preceded by a welcome aperitif.

A few words about the supporters Marino Makes Market Duo, a reduced version of the original quintet, an alternative rock formation from Valdelsa with electronic and psychedelic cues. Their songs talk about work, anxieties, DIY, hand dermatitis, islands inhabited only by sheep, people who we hope will explode in rice (but without lactose), red blood cells of saints that do not dissolve (but olive oils which on the other hand make up the fifteenth) and other stories.

Femina Ridens is composed of Francesca Messina, vocals, guitar and buttafuoco (a traditional Neapolitan string drum) and Massimiliano Lo Sardo, Persian santur, hurdy-gurdy, symphonia, electronics. What they propose is a beautiful musical excursus on the origins of popular songs, starting from the melodies of some songs found in ancient medieval manuscripts up to the work songs of the last century, the result of research in archives and field recordings. A music that is inspired by the past with the evocative force of ancient musical instruments but which is updated in a folk key. A space-time journey that follows the thread of a passionate research on Mediterranean vocality. You will listen to New Ancient Music because, as Gustav Mahler recommended, “tradition is to guard the fire, not to worship the ashes”.
