The Béziers scrum half, after being voted best player in Pro D2, is the target of a League investigation for his behavior on September 23.
During the last Nuit du Rugby, organized by the Canal + National Rugby League on September 23, Samuel Marques, the scrum half from Béziers, was best Pro D2 player for the 2023-2024 season, at the end from which the Hérault club reached the semi-final (defeat against Vannes, future champion). It was then, during the evening organized next to the Olympia, that Marques totally twisted.
According to information from The Team the Portuguese international – visibly very tipsy – attacked a hostess who could not serve him alcohol since she was running a… “soft drinks” stand. Samuel Marques then allegedly threw the contents of his glass in his face before spitting on him. An investigation was opened by the LNR Disciplinary and Regulations Committee to “bad behavior on the part of a player during Rugby Night”reports the sports daily.
The player who played through Pau, Albi, Toulouse, Brive and Carcassonne logically risks a heavy suspension. AS Béziers Hérault is once again hitting the headlines after cases of domestic violence concerning two of its players: second row Hans Nkinsi and three-quarter center Taleta Tupuola. At the end of May, an investigation was opened into death threats as well as damage committed by players from Béziers in a hotel near Vannes after the Pro D2 semi-final lost against the Bretons.
