The latter was unable to return correctly after a powerful serve from his opponent and his ball went straight into the head of the referee who fortunately was not injured at the time. The native of Tel Aviv immediately apologized by shaking the hand of his very unintentional victim.
The Frenchman won in three sets (7-6, 6–3, 7–6) and will play his semi-final against Holger Rune from 5:00 p.m. in Switzerland. The other match will pit Ben Shelton against Arthur Fils (3:00 p.m.).
