Play is important for reducing mental stress and creating a positive environment: Divisional Commissioner

Chamba: Divisional Commissioner Vinod Kumar said that sports have great importance in life in terms of physical and mental health. Describing the important role of sports activities in the professional life of officers and employees working in civil services, he said that along with reducing mental stress, sports also strengthen the team spirit.

Which creates a positive environment at the workplace. He was speaking today while being the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 11th state level inter-district sports and cultural competition of the employees of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Himachal Pradesh at the historic Chaugan in Chamba.

During this, Deputy Commissioner Chamba Mukesh Repsawal was specially present. In his address, the Divisional Commissioner congratulated all the participants and suggested to make rifle-pistol shooting competitions and other sports activities also a part of the competition.

He also asked the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Employees Association to organize an inter-district sports competition during the month of April. During this period, the Divisional Commissioner gave away trophies as awards to the winning participants of the competition. Earlier, Divisional Commissioner Vinod Kumar was honored by the officials of the State and District Deputy Commissioner Office Employees Association by presenting him a shawl-cap and Chamba’s internationally renowned excellent metal craft artwork ‘Chamba Thal’.

Deputy Commissioner Chamba Mukesh Repsawal led his team in various sports competitions during the competition and was the runner-up in the singles category of badminton competition. Around 450 participants from the office of the Deputy Commissioner from all the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh took part in the competition. During this period, cricket, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, table tennis, athletics and cultural competitions were organised.

Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, Additional District Magistrate Amit Maihra, Assistant Commissioner PP Singh, Assistant Commissioner Kullu Shashi Pal Negi, SDM Priyanshu Khati, State President of Himachal Pradesh Deputy Commissioner Office Employees Federation Lokendra Chauhan, Working President Praveen Kumar Mehta, General Secretary Sudesh Tomar, State Coordinator of level sports competition Joginder Pal, Press Secretary Sushil Kumar were present on this occasion.
