The San Francisco 49ers‘ week of training has ended heading into Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. This Friday, San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the players will definitely not be able to face Dallas due to their respective injuries and also that it is not yet known if they will be able to play. In total, there are three injured players who are officially ruled out from playing on Sunday and there are four who still have the possibility of participating in the game.
They don’t play
The players who will definitely not be available due to injury against the Cowboys are wide receiver Jauan Jennings (hip), defensive tackle Kevin Givens (groin) and kicker Jake Moody (right ankle).
Uncertain Availability
Then the four players with injuries who still do not know if they will be able to play because their official report marks them as “questionable”, are tight end George Kittle (foot), cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (illness), safety George Odum (knee) and wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (wrist/illness).
Lenoir recently became ill and participated in limited practice Friday. Before that, the 49ers cornerback trained fully Wednesday and Thursday. While Kittle, Samuel Sr. and Odum managed to train at least limitedly Thursday and Friday.
As for Samuel Sr., Shanahan said his catcher has been improving from the pneumonia he suffered that caused him to miss last game.
“Yes. He’s gotten better every day and hopefully he’ll continue that way for Sunday,” Shanahan said.
Look at the Opponent
The Cowboys have also had to battle the injury nightmare. Dallas reported that four of its players will not be available due to injury to face the 49ers, including star defender Micah Parsons due to an ankle injury. Cornerback Daron Bland (foot), defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (wrist) and tight end John Stephens (knee) also will not play.
Additionally, the Cowboys have three players questionable due to injury. They are cornerback Caelen Carson (shoulder), linebacker Eric Kendricks (shoulder) and linebacker Nick Vigil (foot).
