During last Friday, October 25, the remembered former player of the Brazil National Team, Zé Carlos, lost his life at the age of 56.
The man, who was in Osasco, Brazil, became a legend after joining the team that reached the final of the 1998 World Cup.
The information was confirmed by the Brazilian Football Confederation, which regretted what happened.
What did Zé Carlos die of?
According to the first versions, everything indicates that the main reason for his death was due to cardiac arrest, however, the authorities are working to clarify what happened.
Versions from Brazil indicate that he suffered a health breakdown while sleeping in a family home located in Sao Paulo.
Zé Carlos served as a full-back and due to his talent, he managed to play for teams such as Sao José, Nacional, Sao Caetano and Marília, all from Brazil.
According to the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues: “Zé Carlos was very important in the Brazilian team’s campaign in 1998, when we reached the World Cup final. He was a determined player, with a lot of physical strength, who had a notable career in several clubs. In that moment of pain, I extend my solidarity to all the family and friends of Zé Carlos.”
