Revolution in LaLiga? FC Barcelona could soon play in Miami

LaLiga has apparently submitted an official request to the Spanish football association RFEF to be allowed to play the game between FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid (December 21 or 22, 2024) in the USA. This comes from a report by Sports World out.

Accordingly, LaLiga is aiming to have the game take place in Miami, the new home of Barça icon Lionel Messi. The Hard Rock Stadium of the NFL team Miami Dolphins will serve as the venue. It would be the first LaLiga game to be played outside of Spain.

However, LaLiga first needs the approval of the RFEF. As soon as this is granted, UEFA, CONCACAF and the US Football Association must also give the green light for Barça to take place against Atlético in Miami. In addition, FIFA must at least be informed about the plan in advance. The two clubs reportedly have no objection to dueling in the USA.
