Team Germany also impressed against Sweden

Sweden is not making any real progress against the strong German defense, they have to punt again and again. Chris Noak blocks one of these punts and Germany starts at Sweden’s two yard line. Heiko Bals from the two-time ERIMA GFL Bowl winner Potsdam Royals doesn’t miss this opportunity and runs for a touchdown, 14:0, PAT Schlomm.

With a long touchdown pass from Lars Heidrich to Nico Strahmann, Germany increased to 21-0, PAT Schlomm. The German defense is able to block a field goal attempt by the guests, but the kicker Edvin Jönsson himself prevents the return. This means that the team goes into halftime with a clear 21-0 lead.

After the break, the Heidrich to Strahmann duo continues in exactly the same way, another touchdown pass and the score is 28:0, PAT Schlomm. As against Great Britain, Moritz Maack now takes over as quarterback and ensures the next touchdown with a spectacular trick play. He throws to Louis Geyer, who passes to Sven Breidenbach, who actually plays on the O-line, and he doesn’t miss this unique opportunity and tanks his way into the end zone, 35:0, PAT Schlomm.

In the last quarter, the strong German defense rewarded itself with a touchdown from its linebacker duo. First Tim Unger causes a fumble with a hard tackle, then Luis Bach reacts quickest and brings the egg into the end zone, 42:0, PAT Schlomm. In the final phase, the Swedes put their first points on the scoreboard with a touchdown pass from quarterback Viktor Wessberg, the PAT was blocked by Germany’s defense and the score was 42:6. Thanks to Leon Helm’s runs, Team Germany moves towards the Swedish end zone again, but then ends the game in the victory formation – and then celebrates properly under the floodlights of the Grotenburg Stadium.
