After a week on a road trip marked by a great victory in Monaco, our players lost to a valiant team from Cholet.
The streak of 4 consecutive victories in Betclic ELITE is over. Tiago Splitter’s men came up against a more rested team, who were playing their second home match of the week. The start of the match was simply… special: 9-0 for Cholet after 45 seconds with 3 successful 3-point baskets. But that was without counting on the skill of Collin Malcolm and Nadir Hifi who showed the way to finish the first quarter in front.
The second quarter was much the same, Cholet taking advantage of the atmosphere at La Meilleraie to regain a small two-point advantage at half-time.
One TJ can hide another
TJ Shorts II, once again, was brilliant with 17 points and 7 assists, taking charge early in the 3rd quarter. Orphaned by Tyson Ward this evening, the last MVP of the Betclic ELITE was in line with his match against Monaco. But on the other side, another TJ was present. Veteran TJ Campbell was the main architect of this poor Parisian performance with 18 points.
The last quarter was very choppy, with a lot of mistakes and a lot of shots for Paris. Cholet managed to impose his pace and was able to have an impact on our strong point: the transition game.
We continue with a trip this Tuesday to Berlin for the 6th day of EuroLeague before returning to the adidas arena against Baskonia on November 1st.
