The visitors were in the lead throughout the first half, but in the second half of the game, the opponents took over the lead and at one point gained an eight-point advantage. “TTT Rīga” fought back and Ilze Jākobsone scored the winning basket a minute before the end of regular time, who made a long shot, making it 64:63.

Mia Loida scored 16 points and grabbed ten rebounds in the “TTT Riga” team, Ketija Vihmani had 16 points and five rebounds, Jākobsone collected 12+5. Like Loida, Anna Liepiņa also had ten balls under the basket.

Katerina Rees, who scored 25 points and grabbed 21 rebounds, did not save the opponents from the loss.

In the first match of Group I, Riga lost 74:83 to “Dinamo” of Sassari and then lost “Zaglebie” of Sosnovec 54:74 at home. “Kangoeroes” recognized the superiority of “Zaglebie” with 55:88 and lost to Sassari basketball players with 60:76 at home.

The Sosnovec team has won all three games, the Sassari team – in two out of three matches, the Riga team has one success, while the Mechelen club has lost all three duels.

On October 30, Riga will meet “Dinamo” at home, on November 21 they will play away with Sosnovec team, and on November 28 they will finish the group tournament with a match at home against “Kangoeroes”.

48 clubs compete in the main tournament, drawn into 12 groups of four units each. The two best teams and the four best third-place finishers from each group will qualify for the playoffs. These 28 teams will be joined by four teams that have been relegated from the Euroleague.

In the previous season, “TTT Riga” won all six games in the group, passed two rounds of the “play-off” tournament and lost to “Umana Reyer” from Venice in the sum of two games in the quarter-finals with 148:171.

The London “Lions” became the winner, beating the Turkish club Istanbul “Besiktas” 149:145 in the sum of two matches.
