Noa Lang expects him to be in the final selection of the Dutch national team for the Nations League matches against Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was announced on Friday that the 25-year-old attacker is in the pre-selection of the Dutch team, and in a few weeks national coach Ronald Koeman will announce the final selection.

Lang played his last international match on September 10 last year. Then came a long period in which he did not play due to a hamstring injury.

“Yes, it was a special year,” Lang reflects after the PSV – PEC Zwolle (6-0) NOS. “But it’s nice that I can now look ahead and hopefully focus on football instead of my hamstring pain. Shit year.”

He is now completely back, and on Friday it was announced that he is back in the Oranje pre-selection after a long time. “No more than logical for me,” Lang responds.

“I wasn’t there last time because I had a bit of trouble again. It was better not to go. And that time before it was basically the same. We agreed this way. Now I feel better. I guess I’ll just be there again soon. That’s nice after a year.”

Yet Lang understands that he has a strong competitor in the Dutch national team, including Cody Gakpo. “Cody is of course also a top player. That’s some nice competition. But I’m sure if I just keep doing my thing and I get my chance, I’ll take it.”

“I always have enough self-confidence. No one has to worry about that. I know that if I am fit, no one will stop me in the Netherlands anyway. No one in Europe, I think. I’m just saying that,” the PSV player concludes.
