León, Gto.- With the collaboration of the Region III Education Delegation, COMUDE León directs the internal phase of the 2024-25 Basic Education School Sports Games that is ready to begin the search for the best municipal representatives in 10 sports disciplines.
With the participation of just over 2 thousand children and young people from public and private schools at the primary and secondary level, from November 12 to February 3 of next year, competitions and playoffs will be held in sports such as: athletics, chess, lexicon game, table tennis; tae kwon do, in forms and combat; baseball, badminton, basketball, soccer, handball and indoor volleyball.
The athletics discipline, which will be competed in the categories of those born in 2013 and younger in men’s and women’s branches, will be competed in the tests of: 75, 150, 300 and 600 meters; In the field events there will be a qualifying round in 6 lb. shot put, 600 gram discus throw, baseball throw, long jump and tetrathlon, which will consist of 60 meter dash tests, baseball throw, jump length, 600 meters and relay 4 x 75 meters.
In the category for secondary school children, the track events will be 100, 200, 800 and 2000 meters; while in the field there will be competition in shot put, discus throw, high jump, long jump, and hexathlon with the 80 meter dash, high jump, shot put, long jump, and baseball throw events. ; 1000 and 1200 meter dash and finally 4 x 100 meter relay.
In chess, the competitions for the classical test will be in mixed teams or individuals for 60 minutes and in rapid competition in the mixed category for 30 minutes.
Baseball will only be competed in the men’s branch in the category of children born in 2013 and younger; while badminton there will be competition in men’s, women’s and mixed branches for primary school children in the 2013-14 categories, as well as 2015 and younger. Table tennis will also be competed in both branches.
