On a final decisive arrow, Lisa Barbelin narrowly won the victory against the South Korean Hunyoung Jeon (6-4).
This is the story of the first Olympic medal in women’s archery. Lisa Barbelin, 24, won individual bronze during an epic final on Saturday August 3. After being sharply eliminated (6-0) in the semi-final by the Korean Su Hyeon Nam, Lisa Barbelin was able to pull herself together for the 3rd place match. Lorraine started well against his opponent, Hunyoung Jeon, before seeing his lead reduced twice.
With four points each, the two archers had to fight it out during the decisive round. The European indoor champion in 2022 managed the first two arrows perfectly, before scoring a 10 on her last attempt. Thanks to this performance, the Frenchwoman becomes the first French archer to win an individual Olympic medal among women, thus writing her name in history.
