It was in October 2014 that Patricia Bastient and Audrey Millien created the club. Their passion for judo will make it grow, and they will be helped by Patricia’s experience and track record. Former world champion judo master (2013) and former European champion, she has played the role of judo teacher from the start.
Today, the number of affiliates breaks a record: “ when we created the club, there were 17 members. Today, we have just crossed the 110 mark. The club has a good reputation and we are achieving good results in competition » underlines Patricia. The Olympic Games effect is not unrelated to this increase in new registrations, but the club notices that each time an event highlights judo, there is a peak and then it falls a little later.
Tonight, the party gives way to training. The evening had barely begun, the room already had dozens of guests seated to enjoy the snacks, not to mention all the others waiting impatiently in front of the attendants responsible for distributing the tickets. “ An evening like this cannot be organized without the help of volunteers, whether they are parents, friends or simply supporters. », Points out Patricia Bastient. In this club, there is a family atmosphere. This is probably also where we must look for the key to its success and longevity.
