Don Bosco wins regular series and advances to the Espaillat basketball final – El Nuevo Diario (Dominican Republic)

THE NEW DIARY, MOCA. – In an exciting closing of the regular series of the Baloncesto Superior de Espaillat (BSE), the Don Bosco club secured its place in the final and the champions of San Sebastián, obtained their qualification to the semifinals of the XXX tournament dedicated to Don Andrés Bautista , Administrative Minister of the Presidency.

Don Bosco (5-4) after an impressive 93×85 victory over the La Cancha club (5-4), certified first place in the competition, with a cohesive game and an exceptional performance by five players in double figures.

The Salesian offensive was commanded by; Charles García 23 points and 10 rebounds, Darwin Rosario 23, Oliver Liriano 17, Mikael Ureña 13 and Derek Mejía 12 points. On the losing side; Marlon Jhonson 23 points and 13 rebounds, Andy Pérez 18, Warlyn Disla 16, Dominick García 13 points.

San Sebastián advances to the semifinal; José Horacio is ruled out

On the other hand, the champions of the San Sebastián club (5-4), with a collective effort managed to qualify for the semifinals by defeating José Horacio Rodríguez 91×78 (3-6), in the tournament endorsed by the Dominican Basketball Federation .

The BSE regular series left three teams with a 5-4 record, but the difference in Don Bosco’s goal average was vital to classify in first position in the event, leaving the semifinals between San Sebastián and La Cancha in a series of 5-3.

The most notable for the Red Empire were; Nargenis Ulloa 26 points, Willy Pérez 21, Kevin Núñez 18 and Jonathan Araujo 9 points and 15 rebounds. In the José Horacio; Malfry Sanche 21 points, Junior Taveras 18, Darious Monten 15 and Elizaur Muñoz 12 points.
