Kevin Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to score 29,000 points in his career, reaching the mark on Saturday night when his Phoenix Suns beat the Dallas Mavericks by 114-102.
During this elite list of players who have reached the barrier of 29,000 points, headed by LeBron Jamesthe NBA’s leading scorer with 40,543 points. Behind James are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, Wilt Chamberlain y Durant.
Durant36 years old, is tenth on the combined NBA and ABA listcon Julius Erving eighth and Moses Malone ninth.
“I have to give him credit to the people who have helped me since I was a child,” he said Durant. “Teammates who passed me the ball, made screens for me, coaches who They designed plays for me“.
He 14-time All-Star scored 31 points on Saturday against the Mavericks and now he has 29,010 points in 17 seasons with Seattle, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix. The four-time league champion has averaged 27.3 points in 1,064 games.
Durant has averaged at least 20 points per game every season and continues to put the ball in the hoop at a high rate, scoring 28.7 points per game in his first three games of this season.
