An exultant Carlos Sainz celebrated, Spanish flag in hand, an almost perfect victory in Mexico. The Madrid native really wanted to win what may be his last at Ferrari before going to Williams, and not by his own intention, and he achieved it in an almost perfect way.
“It is incredible to see these fans, I have felt their support all weekend, I feel that I always have a lot of support here and they have given me a lot of strength throughout the weekend,” he dedicated to the enthusiastic audience of the Foro Sol, where hundreds of Mexicans cheered him.
Regarding the race, Sainz was clear: «I needed it. I needed this victory, to finish the job. “I had been saying for a long time that I wanted a victory before leaving Ferrari and doing it here in Mexico, with these pieces of these fans, is incredible,” he insisted, with a certain tribunerism and exaltation of friendship.
Just because this victory was so dominant does not mean that it will be the last, although this was the circuit that most benefited the Ferrari’s characteristics. Sainz wants more, but he knows it won’t be easy. «There are four races left, I want to enjoy it and if another one comes, I will go for it. I have noticed all weekend that it could be my weekend, I also had my whole family here and I wanted to do it in front of them, I have been feeling all the support of this incredible fans, if I had to choose a place to win again With Ferrari that would have been Mexico, I have always felt very at home here and getting a victory here is incredible,” concluded the Spaniard.
Alonso: “It was a good weekend”

Alonso explained the abandonment very clearly in his analysis of the race. «The start was a bit chaotic, but I think I took advantage to gain positions. We were under control on laps 11 and 12, looking for opportunities to score points, but on lap 13 the brake temperatures began to be unsafe,” he explained.
