NFL – Steelers beat Giants to take division lead – Sports

Pittsburgh (dpa) – The Pittsburgh Steelers have joined the chasing group behind the Kansas City Chiefs with a win against the New York Giants. The 26:18 was the sixth win for the Steelers, who lead the AFC North and took advantage of the Baltimore Ravens’ mistake on Sunday. Quarterback Russell Wilson led the Steelers to their second win in his second appearance back from injury and had a touchdown pass to Calvin Austin. Austin scored a second touchdown when he carried a punt 73 yards into the end zone and was named man of the game.

For the Giants, where Jakob Johnson from Stuttgart was not in the active squad for the fourth game in a row, it was the sixth defeat in the eighth game of the season. Realistically, the playoffs are already out of reach for the team. In the NFC, the Washington Commanders are at the top as one of the teams with six wins. Only the Chiefs, who want to win the Super Bowl for the third time in a row this season, are still undefeated with seven wins in seven games.
