“Rubene” scores five goals in the 3rd period and wins in Ķekava
One match of the ELVI floorball league for women took place today in Ķekava, where FC “Ķekava” hosted the title team “Rubene” from Kocēni. At the beginning of the last period, the score was still tied (3:3), but then the guests scored five goals in a row, ensuring the victory of “Rubenes” with 8:3. The top scorer in the Kocēni team with 4 (3+1) points was Simona Gräpena.
In the Ķekava sports complex, the home fans were the first to cheer, because in the 11th minute Luize Raseitseva from Ķekava opened the score with an accurate shot (1:0). After the first period, the result was tied again (1:1), because in the 16th minute, experienced Kocēni floorball player Edīte Bankava responded with a goal. During the second third, the girls from Kočenia gained a one-goal lead (3:2), but in the 42nd minute Kristiānas Elizabetes Krūmiņa from Kekavie realized their numerical majority – 3:3. In the last 16 minutes of regular time, the visitors scored five unanswered goals, ensuring the fifth victory for Kocēni “Rubene” – 8:3.
Simona Grāpēnas was the most productive in the winning team with 4 (3+1) points, while Madlēna Rozīte, Marta Drille, Linda Līce and Edīte Bankava collected 2 (1+1) productivity points each. The best player award went to Drille. Goalkeeper Dana Gulbi, who saved 21 of 26 opponents’ shots in 50 minutes, was recognized as the best among the team. Luiza Raseitseva was the top scorer in her team with two goals. After this victory, Kocēni “Rubene” strengthened itself in the 1st place of the tournament table with 15 points, while FK “Ķekava” still has three points and 5th place.
