On Saturday, October 26, the Anaitasuna Club of Pamplona organized the “II <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2023/11/judo-club-ribera-navarra-excels-at-i-anaitasuna-judo-tournament/" title="Judo Club Ribera Navarra Excels at I Anaitasuna Judo Tournament”>Anaitasuna Judo Tournament“, for men and women.
The event, aimed at Judokas in the Children’s and Cadet categories, began on Friday afternoon with the accreditation of the teams and the weighing of the Judokas, from the autonomies of Navarra, the Basque Country, La Rioja, Aragon, Catalonia and Madrid. The Tournament also had the participation of Judokas from Andorra.
In the morning, the children’s category competition took place with the participation of 100 judokas, and in the afternoon, it was the turn of the juniors, with a total of 150 judokas.
A total of eight judokas participated from the Shogun riverside team, two in children and six in cadets, achieving a total of five medals.
To begin with, Carlota Recio, judo S. Cintruenigo won the bronze medal in the weight of less than 52 kg, in said category. Miguel, from Cascante, was less lucky, as he was unable to advance to the podium.
In the afternoon, in the Cadet category began with the victory of Carmen Cornago, (S. Cintruenigo) achieving the first Bronze in this category. Next came the Gold from Iosu Bea (S. Fitero) and the silver from Alba Sagra (Headquarters) and Nico Orobio (S. Cascante).
Our colleague Israel De Los Santos had less luck, who had to leave the combat area.
Finally, doing good work on the tatami, Claudia Casajus, had no chance of winning in this championship after having three complicated fights.
Next week, the Shogun judo team will return to the “Navarro Senior Championship” competition with three other athletes from the club.
