Francisco Cabezas has been head of the Sports section of El Periódico since June 2023. Before, he worked at the newspaper El Mundo, where he was chronicler of the Barcelona Football Club matches since 2004. Graduated in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he has been a special envoy in the Paris 2024 Olympic Gameshe Qatar Soccer World Cup (2022) and the Russia Soccer World Cup (2018). Furthermore, it has covered three Euro Cups (Poland and Ukraine 2012, France 2015, multi-venue with final in London in 2020) and five Champions League finals (Paris 2006, Rome 2009, London 2011, Berlin 2015 and Istanbul 2023). He has also covered major events in other disciplines such as the 2013 Swimming World Cup in Barcelona or the 2014 Basketball World Cup in Spain.
In 2017 he was awarded the award for best journalistic work of the year by Panenka magazine.

He collaborates with the radio stations RAC1 and Onda Cero.
In June 2022 he published his first novel, ‘Lose’ (Doll).
