General Rodríguez already has his first medals in the Buenos Aires Games: who and in what sports won them

On Monday, October 28, the finals of the Buenos Aires Games began in the city of Mar del Plata and will continue until Saturday, November 2. This Tuesday, the Rodriguense delegation won its first medals.

This is a different edition from the traditional games, given that this year an interregional stage was incorporated that constitutes a preliminary phase to the final stage. This works as a filter given that there were some disciplines where in a certain region, if there was only one competitor, they directly accessed the final stage and now must go through another instance. That reduced the size of the delegations that came to La Feliz and there were also sports that were removed from the competition.

Thus, General Rodríguez’s delegation is 180 athletes in disciplines such as women’s 11-a-side soccer, mixed 7-a-side soccer, skating, PCD athletics, athletics, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, swimming, PCD swimming, hockey, table tennis, table tennis. PCD table, shuffleboard and chess, in addition to cultural disciplines such as folk dance, PCD dance theater, literature, choreography and Orientation.

This Tuesday, the first medals arrived for our district. And as it could not be otherwise, judo contributed them. Joaquín Ruiz won the gold medal in the Children’s B category and in the +64 kg modality; while Cristian Bello won bronze in the Children’s B category in the 44 kg category.
