France welcomes, from October 29 to November 2, the European Youth Baseball5 Championships at the Artenium sports complex in Clermont Auvergne Métropole. The competition will qualify two teams for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup scheduled for 2025 in Mexico.
The 13 participants were divided into two groups.
World No. 4 France, No. 18 Netherlands, No. 19 Belgium, No. 25 Spain, No. 28 Bulgaria and No. 34 Moldova will play in Group A .
Group B will bring together n°10 Lithuania, n°13 Turkey, n°20 Italy, n°23 Romania, n°29 Finland, n°31 Germany and Poland .
Kira Baitiul, the Lithuanian and youngest player at this month’s WBSC Baseball5 World Cup Hong Kong 2024, told WBSC she wanted to use her experience in Hong Kong to improve the result of her team, third two years ago during the Youth Baseball5 European Championships.
“We have room for improvement but did better than our 11th place in Mexico by finishing 8th in Hong Kong, we are in the right direction and we hope this will translate into good results here in France,” said Baitiul .
The first round consists of 36 matches and ends Thursday October 31. The top three teams from each group will compete in the second round, which begins the same day.
The first two teams from the second round will qualify for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup and will compete for the title of European Champion on Saturday November 2. The third and fourth in the second round will compete for the bronze medal.

The qualification process for the Youth Baseball5 World Cup began with three regional qualifying tournaments in Africa. World No. 27 Uganda, No. 15 Kenya, No. 7 South Africa, No. 40 Zimbabwe, No. 5 Tunisia and No. 12 Ghana will play for two places qualifiers for the Youth Baseball5 World Cup during the Super6 Africa Youth Baseball5 Championship in January 2025.
The Americas and Asia will qualify three teams each, Oceania one and the WBSC Executive Committee will award an invitation to the 12th participant.
The 2025 Youth Baseball5 World Cup will qualify for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
