Over 300 of Korea’s top players participated

[김천=뉴시스] Reporter Park Hong-sik = The ’79th Korea Tennis Championships’ will be held from November 1 to 10 at the tennis court at Sports Town in Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
This tournament, which awards the most KTA ranking points (400 points) in Korea, will feature over 300 top domestic tennis players competing to compete.
There will be fierce competition through preliminary and final tournaments.
The match will be held in men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events, and the total prize money will be 100 million won.
The winners of each category will be listed on the list of past winners of the Korean Tennis Championships and will receive the highest honor in domestic tennis.
Lee Jae-moon (KDB Industrial Bank), a player from Gimcheon who won the men’s singles championship last year, is drawing attention by participating in this tournament as well.
Lee Jae-moon recently won the men’s singles championship cup in the tennis general division at the 105th National Sports Festival held in Gyeongnam.
Kim Chung-seop, Mayor of Gimcheon, said, “It is meaningful that the country’s most prestigious tennis tournament will be held in Gimcheon for the fourth consecutive year,” and added, “We will spare no effort in providing administrative support to ensure that the tournament can be concluded successfully, befitting its reputation as a sports-specialized city.”
