The Indonesian U-17 National Team ended the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup Qualification round by finishing as runner up Group G. Even though they only finished in second place, the Garuda Muda squad is certain to still qualify for the U-17 Asian Cup.
The Indonesian U-17 national team played a life-and-death match against Australia U-17 on match day third Group G at the Abdullah Alkhalifa Stadium, Sunday (27/10/2024) evening.
Both teams are both aiming to win in this match. Indonesia and Australia appeared aggressive in the first half. However, in the second half, Indonesia and Australia lowered the tempo of the game to play more ball until the match finished with a score of 0-0.

The draw was enough for both teams to qualify for the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup which was held in Saudi Arabia. Australia and Indonesia ended this tournament with a collection of 7 points.
Australia has the right to be at the top because of their superior goal difference. Australia scored a total of +21 goals. Meanwhile Indonesia recorded +11 goals.
Even though they failed to lock in the top position, Indonesia still has the right to qualify for the U-17 Asian Cup finals. The reason is, Indonesia is one of the best runners up from 10 groups.
Indonesia finished in third place in the best runner up standings. The Garuda Muda squad is calculated to have collected 4 points and a goal difference of +1 in the standings runner up best. This happened because the results of the match against the Northern Mariana Islands were not counted.

1. Australia -7 points (+21 goals)
2. Indonesia -7 points (+11 goals)
3. Kuwait -3 points (-6 goals)
4. Northern Mariana Islands -0 points (-38 goals).
