The Panamanian Baseball Federation (Fedebeis) today announced its 28-player roster for its first participation in the Premier12 WBSC 2024 presented by RAXUS. Starting November 9, Panama will make its debut in the main international baseball tournament of the year.
Manager José Mayorga has selected players with MLB experience, along with players from different professional leagues, minor leagues and players from local competition.
This is Panama’s roster for the Premier12:
PITCHERS: Dario Agrazal; Alberto Baldonado; Jaime Barria; Enrique Burgos; Bryan Caceres Gilberto Chu; Steven Fuentes; Miguel Gomez Severino González; Alberto Guerrero; Kenny Hernandez; Abdiel Mendoza Kevin Miranda; Wilfredo Pereira; and Kevin Rodriguez.
BOX PLAYERS: Johan Camargo; Ruben Tejada Xavier Quiroz; and Joshwan Wright.

Jaime Barría, a 28-year-old right-handed pitcher with six seasons and 134 appearances in MLB, will be one of Panama’s main weapons. Barría has posted a 4.38 ERA pitching for the Los Angeles Angels, and this year he made 19 starts with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), posting a 6-7 record and a 5.15 ERA. He pitched for Panama in the World Baseball Classic last year.
Pitchers Enrique Burgos (73 MLB games with the Arizona Diamondbacks), Darío Agrazal (19 MLB games with the Pittsburgh Pirates) and Alberto Baldonado (14 games with the Washington Nationals) also have Major League experience.
Among position players, Rubén Tejada will lead the team that has been in the MLB for nine seasons and 663 games, batting .250 while playing for the New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles. The 35-year-old veteran currently plays for the Leones de Yucatán, in the Mexican Baseball League.
The no. 10 in the world, Panama, will play its first Premier12 in Group A, along with no. 2 Mexico; the no. 4 Venezuela; the no. 5 United States; the no. 7 Netherlands; and the no. 8 Puerto Rico.
Panama will open the Premier12 on November 9 facing the Netherlands in Game 1 of the Global Baseball Battle.
